OO George Chatterton (F 2016) has received an award from Cambridge International Examinations to acknowledge his outstanding performance, achieving the highest mark for Cambridge Pre-U Economics in the June 2016 examination series.
George, who is currently taking a gap year in Australia, was among twenty-one pupils who achieved the highest marks in Cambridge Pre-U subjects. All award winners were rewarded with an official certificate from Cambridge recognising their achievement.
Michael O’Sullivan, Chief Executive, Cambridge International Examinations said that given the quality of Cambridge Pre-U candidates, winning an award for the highest mark in a Cambridge Pre-U subject is evidence of a performance of the very highest calibre.
George was a member of the Oundle team who won the Regional Heat of the Target Two Point Zero Bank of England and Times Interest Rate Challenge in November 2015.
170 UK independent and state schools teach Cambridge Pre-U, which is recognised by universities in the UK and a growing number in the US, including all Ivy League colleges.
Pupils at Oundle School performed well in their 2016 Sixth Form examinations; one in four grades were awarded A* or equivalent. Ten percent of the grades for Pre-U subjects attracted the D1 grade, which represents a step above the equivalent A*.
